If America actually thought you were a carnivore right now he would have actually literally been dropped on his head as a baby. But you have to realize it's not just thinking Akane might be guilty that kept America from saving her - he could tell she didn't have a role, and I'm guessing you don't either or you probably would have mentioned it during this taking me hostage business.
