Day Seven [Holden Caulfield]
[Following this conversation Syo leads Holden to her cabin. She sits atop the table and pulls up something onto her lap - a book. She coughs roughly after taking her seat on it and grins.]
On the bed Holden. I have some fun things to talk to you about!
[She's sure Holden doesn't have the cure to the poison - he would have given it to Akane Kurashiki if he did. But, that isn't what this is about. This is about making sure she doesn't die. And she has a plan to make it so.]

[Instead she flips open the journal in front of her and skims it briefly.]
Mor-pho-ge-ne-tic Field. [She speaks slowly, sounding out every syllable.] Akane Kurashiki was a pretty interesting girl, huh Holden?

[She flips through it a little more until she finds what she's looking for. In between the pages...a folded note. Syo lifts it up and shows it to him - though doesn't move anywhere near to letting him have it.]
She left this to you. Do you want it? I'll even give you the journal too.
[Her free hand still resting on the table, grips something tightly. Just in case he tries to rush up to her...]

[His eyes widen instantly when she raises the letter - hell yes he wants it, but... wait.]
Well, you sure did live up to your claim time here would be worth my while. I guess you're not just gonna be a honey and hand it over like she wanted or you wouldn't have stolen it, huh?

[She hacks out a cough and puts the note back into the journal, shutting it. Give her some credit - she hasn't even opened the letter at all.]
Now then...I'm going to die unless I get help. But, there's no way that person will help me under normal circumstances. But...I figured out a way that we can both get what we want! So, if you agree to my terms I'll give you the journal and the note. But, I'll only give it to you tomorrow. If I die, you don't get it. If I live, you get it. Sound good?

[For several seconds he stares at Fukawa like the only thing keeping him from hitting her is her sex. Then, with a lot of concentration, he tries to address her in a serious, rational fashion.]
What are you gonna do with that stuff if, say, you have the misfortune to die? Give it to one of your friends? She was clever, you know, I'd bet money she has theories in there - if you outright threaten to burn that thing, it's probably gonna be harmful to the town.

Yeah, but the town contains people who would vote for you - or Touko, either way Critter counts you the same - and America - yeah, I guess you've figured that out and if you haven't congratulations, now you know why England's claiming - is one of them!

Because you do have a lotta power here - it's really obvious now the Hunters are the poisoners now, not the prey. If America actually thought you were a carnivore right now he would have actually literally been dropped on his head as a baby. But you have to realize it's not just thinking Akane might be guilty that kept America from saving her - he could tell she didn't have a role, and I'm guessing you don't either or you probably would have mentioned it during this taking me hostage business. Oh, and you have to take into account that Critter made it very clear someone could fake your condition.
I'll vouch for you like I did for Akane - hell, later today when it gets bad I'll help you walk like I did her if you really want. But how the hell is taking me hostage gonna help with that?

Gehahahahaha...you're wrong Holden. I do have a role. I'm not telling you what it is - you could easily be one of the Hunters who poisoned me still. But I have one and today I'll make it clear. And if he thinks of letting me die, that nitwit will be sorry for it.
I don't need you to vouch for me. Vouching for Akane Kurashiki didn't save her life. You can't do anything but be insurance. I refuse to die this way...think of yourself as a tricked out pony, being shown to the audience. I just need you to get their attention. That's all. It doesn't really matter if they like me or not you know. We need to keep our numbers up so we can beat the Hunters. They only need enough dead so that the numbers even out in their favor, but we need to kill all of them. ...I'll tell you this much Holden, I refuse to die by poison. And if America doesn't promise me protection, then Akane's journal and her note go up in smoke.

[He keeps kind of forgetting that Touko-Syo is a Hope's Peak kid because there are so damn many of them. Sayaka, Kyouko, Togami, and Naegi - those roles he'd picked up by now. Mondo and Aoi were surely normal prey, Kyouko'd made that clear. But he hadn't asked about Touko and now he is paying the price hard. Shit.]
So we're all clear... How exactly are you gonna hold me hostage, now? I mean, what's preventing me from just getting up and walking away. It's just her stuff, right? Or are you actually threatening me with that knife of yours. Damn, I knew I should have gotten to the supply shop... I brought a hunting knife with me, you know, but Critter took it when he took everyone else's weapons.
